Disney and Benny Goodman!
Woo hoo! Two favorites that go together so well. If I had been born at the right time, I probably would have been a Swing Kid. As it is, my musical tastes are all over the map.
Enjoy this clip from Youtube of this Disney segment from 1946’s “Make Mine Music” of “All The Cats Join In” with the Benny Goodman Orchestra doing it’s best to keep the beat moving!
And I do remember listening to an evening of great jazz as Disneyland saluted Benny Goodman back in the summer of 1988. Looking about I found that was sometime in late June or early July of that year with guest soloists Peanuts Hucko and Louise Tobin featuring alumni of the Benny Goodman orchestras playing at the Carnation Gardens. You know, back in the days when you could still get ice cream there?
Enjoy the clip! I know I do...
