Okay, so it’s been a while.
Yes, the keyboard has been quiet but I finally answered the siren’s call and am back at it.
Since last I ventured on line and typed away, I have gone through a few changes that have side tracked my time. Those having been dealt with, I can find no excuses to keep me otherwise occupied.
A few items of note:
I am still engaged in the search for additional information for the 1959 Disney film, “Pollyanna”, and the Western Pacific steam locomotive and passenger train. I have been sucessful in finding images of the train before, during, and after filming took place in St. Helena, California on the Southern Pacific’s Calistoga Branch, on August 11, 12, & 13, 1959.
And, while on the subject of the Western Pacific 94, I am preparing a magazine story on the last run of the locomotive for the 50th anniversary of passenger service on the WP on August 22, 1960.
It’s been a long run for the blog here off and on over the years. With that in mind, there are plenty of stories to share from that time. You can expect at least one bit of classic Roger a week going forward.
While there was a time when I would try to do a daily effort, some physical limitations have crept in that make that impractical. Mostly annoying, but limitations they be. The perils of advancing years. Still, expect new stories from the world out there to be shared on a more consistent basis.
Until then, mark well the words shared below!
