The Walt Disney Family Museum - Opening Day, at last...
As it must, opening day has come and gone.
The Walt Disney Family Museum has welcomed its first guests.
Yes, I was part of that first group of 60 people who had the lucky tickets for entry between 10:00 and 10:15 am. Something to remember fondly for years to come.
However, thanks to the miracles of Bay Area traffic, and yes, I know all about them, I missed the ceremonies marking the event. But I arrived promptly at 10:00 am.
Thanks to Leo Holzer for these photos. We’ll have more to share from the opening later on today and tomorrow.
Members of the press, WDFM staff and the public await the start of the festivities.

From left to right, Walter E. D. Miller, Richard Benefield and Diane Disney Miller with the gallery staff of the Walt Disney Family Museum. A few brief remarks before the ribbon cutting, er, tearing (in the true Disney tradition).
